She wasn't interested in the birds at all. I hope that's good? The birds had a literal hiss-y fit when they saw her though.
Speaking of the birds, one of our finches must have caught her leg on something - probably those stupid wicker nests. She probably caught her little claw in it and got stuck, then wrenched herself away from it. I thought she was sick a few weeks ago - she was on the bottom of the cage. But as she continued to live I thought something else must be wrong. Then I noticed she was having difficulties with one side, and I figured it must be her leg. We provided food and water for her on the bottom of the cage. It was a struggle for her to sit on the branches to get at the water. It must have been so painful! So today I go downstairs and look in the cage, and she looked all bright and perky on the branch, getting her own water. However, her left leg looks like heck! It's yellow, swollen and funky looking. But it's dry looking too. So I think the poor thing was infected but it seems like it's at the healing stages. I'm considering getting some antibiotics for her. I wonder if the vet would sell me some without having to bring in the bird? I have to find a local vet here too that will take care of birds.....
I think her birthday was April 28. :)
